- I'm a student originally from Portland, Maine. I've taken a few semesters off in the process of completing my undergraduate career at Tufts University. Island Hopping is a blog devoted to my time here in Bermuda. I am doing a research internship at BIOS, the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences. It describes a little bit of my research woes and triumphs and serves as a venue for comparisons I draw between Bermuda and Cuba, where I recently spent three months. Last semester I studied abroad in Havana. Though Cuba is physically very close to the United States, current restrictions make it very difficult to access for Americans. I hope Havana, Cuba and 1950s Chevrolets can offer a glimpse of my life in Havana to anyone interested. Email me with any suggestions, and I don't profess to be a writer so i'm sorry if I ramble.
